Adoption

June 22, 2012

Two dear sets of friends are adopting children from overseas. Will you keep them in your prayers, and help however you are able (such as by sharing and reposting these links to your friends, and/or by giving a little bit)?

John and Lauren Casper–John attended VMI with Stan, and Lauren and I have become friends since we graduated–are adopting a little girl, and they’re praying for a miracle. Pray their documents FLY through court, as the courts close for August and September, and either they can bring her home in the next six weeks (and there is only a slim teeny chance of that) or October. IF they need to wait, pray God holds their hearts, brings them peace, and continues to care for their little girl in Ethiopia. And IF she can come home now, praise be to God! They need to raise $10,000 (only travel expenses are left! they need to travel to Ethiopia twice), and are aiming to complete that in 30 days. Yeah! That’s 2,000 people donating $5 each! 🙂

AND

Johnathan and Melissa Grassmick–who are good friends of ours from church: oh MY our boys love to PLAY together, and she is such an encouragement to me with mothering and homeschooling–are adopting a sibling set from Honduras. Honduras is one of the most challenging countries to adopt from, and yet they are diligently pursuing adopting a set of siblings from an orphanage in Honduras. They’ve completed SO much paperwork, and now are waiting for the government to process and examine everything they’ve submitted. They need to raise $30,000, and every little bit helps.

If you’re in/near Santa Fe, let me know if you’d like info on their upcoming fundraiser event, or if you can donate items for their silent auction. Thank you!

Thank you, dear friends!
